Sinister Manipulation III

An addendum to the Sinister Manipulation I & II manuscripts, as found in Hostia; practical manipulation strategies for the Sinister Initiate.

As mentioned previously, when it comes to the Black Magick of Traditional Satanism, manipulation is necessary; in fact, described in a single word, the ethos of Dark Sorcery could be described simply as “manipulation.” There is the manipulation of Magickal energies in acts of Ritual, which requires developing spontaneous Empathy with Acausal forces so you may direct those forces to act upon/bend things to your Will. Then, there is the manipulation of people, which involves changing/directing their behavior in accordance with Sinister Strategy.

Generally speaking, the Sinister Initiate understands the reality that most people belong to the category of Homo Hubris- as in, they are still rather primitive, unconsciously acting individuals who are held in sway to forces they aren't even aware of nor understand. With this practical view of the masses, the Sinister Initiate comes to adopt a dispassionate view in time; perhaps first misanthropically viewing mundanes with contempt & hatred, as is natural in the beginning stages, but with time & experience gradually coming to see this state of affairs as an opportunity to exact one's Will- viewing the masses as raw material to work with, like any other naturally occuring element one bends & changes to manifest a Creative vision.

The strategic creation & manipulation of Aeonic forms & Archetypes on a grand civilizational level is the basis of Sinister Aeonic Magick- working with & manipulating the collective psyche of a civilization in order to change the direction of a Race's evolution. This Blackest of Magick is an intuitive skill developed around Grade 5° of the Sevenfold Sinister Way: Master/Mistress of Earth, and has most of its psychic foundations crystallized in the Grade Ritual of the Abyss- when the Sinister Adept finally transcends the psychic influences of all Unconscious & Aeonic forces acting upon them up until that point.

However, as with all things, a skill must be developed on the micro level before deployed on the macro- before large-scale supra-personal endeavors are undertaken, personal surroundings must first be mastered. Thus, in this short essay, we will focus on the skill of practically manipulating others on the personal level, in one's “day to day life,” in hopes of providing a solid foundation to Traditional Satanists who seek to take this skill further in their Satanic Quest.

When it comes to manipulating others on the individual level, it is important to first gain a concrete understanding of their psyche- both their conscious & unconscious motivations. With this understanding, you will then be able to predict their actions & reactions to certain scenarios, allowing you to socially engineer desired outcomes both directly & indirectly.

There are three essential psychological questions you need to find the answer to when it comes to manipulating an individual:

1. What do they fear the most?

2. What/who do they value the most?

3. What do they want the most?

Finding the answers to these fundamental questions will allow you to prey on the motivations people don't even know they have; essentially utilizing unconscious forces to direct the actions of the individuals you seek to manipulate.

Bear in mind, the people you seek to manipulate might not even consciously know the answers to these questions- as in, the answers to these questions are mostly unconscious for the vast majority of mundanes; so simply asking them in some covert manner may not yield the true answers you seek. Rather, one should pay attention to their actions, not their words, when it comes to deducing the answers to these three fundamental questions.

Dis-covering these answers is simply a matter of experimention & social engineering; whether this is done from the shadows or directly is up to the Initiate, though it is generally accepted that working from the shadows allows greater opportunity in general- indeed, observation of those you seek to manipulate from the shadows is probably best when it comes to longtern aims.

For example, to figure out what someone values the most, the Initiate can simply observe what this person chooses to suffer for. Do they work long hours at a job they hate to provide for the family they value? Or do they value an ideology, demonstrating such by showing a willingness to engage in direct political action & thus put themselves in harms way for the cause? Or, do they go into debt & put themselves in risky scenarios in order to procure some kind of vice, thus demonstrating they value pleasure/an escape from the pain of their life?

Continuing with this example, once you figure out what this person values the most, it is possible to deduce the answers to the other two questions by further observation & experimentation; if for example you observe the thing they value being threatened, and they react with a dramatic amount of irrationality & fear (emotional outbursts, committing violence, breaking “the rules,” self medicating, etc.), then they perhaps just exposed the fact that they fear losing whatever it is they value the most.

As another example, once you've figured out the answers to these questions, if you wish to lower someone's guard and gain access to their private life, provide them a way to acquire what they want the most, or give it to them outright in exchange for whatever it is you desire from this person. Again, what people want the most is usually unconscious- a forbidden desire relegated to the Shadow Self, revealed in actions they perhaps try to keep secret. To gain leverage, you could in theory offer them a consistent & reliable source for what it is they want the most, resulting in not only the direct leverage of being the sole source of what it is they want, but also the indirect leverage of “blackmail",” especially if this desire is socially forbidden & could damage their reputation (especially if their reputation is what they value the most).

The possibilities of this technique are truly limitless.

There is a practical manipulation strategy used by the CIA known as the R.I.C.E. method, an acronym for four simple ways to establish leverage over a source or asset.

Again, observation of the individual you seek to manipulate is key- manipulation strategies are necessarily unique & idiosynchratic to each unique individual.

The R.I.C.E. method is thus:

R. Reward

The Reward strategy is straight-forward. It involves simply giving your target something they want in exchange for doing what you want them to do. The more forbidden the Reward, the better the leverage.

Ex: “Mr. Senator, upon signing this bill into law, $12,000 will be immediately transferred to your account.”

I. Ideology

Ideology is a very strong motivator for people; indeed, thousands of people die every year in the name of their Ideology. This strategy involves leveraging your target's Ideology in order to get them to do what you want them to do. The key here is to leverage the ideology your target already believes in.

Ex: “By giving us your manager's secrets, you're helping us get justice for all the minorities & people of color he's oppressed & abused.”

C. Coercion

Coercion should be considered a last resort when it comes to your manipulation strategy, as it damages trust between you and your target. That being said, Coercion involves using fear to manipulate your target into doing what you want them to do. The CIA has used everything from Blackmail to intimidation.

Ex: “You might want to reconsider your decision. It'd be a shame if your wife found out you were cheating on her with your secretary.”

E. Ego

Ego is a very strong motivator for getting people to do what you want them to do. Whether its one's public reputation or self-perception, appealing to the Ego is especially effective against delusional modern men when leveraged by Satanic Women.

Ex: “I know I'm asking for a lot, but I didn't know who else to come to. Men as strong & intelligent as you are hard to come by nowadays.”

When it comes to the R.I.C.E. method, as stated previously, it is crucial to observe your target for a period of time in order to fine tune your manipulation strategy; in conjunction with the three fundamental questions given in the previous section, you will find that there isn't a single non-Satanist you won't be able to bend to your will.

For it is a fact that the the Homo Hubris masses live very unconsciously; held in thrall to unconscious desires & fears they aren't even aware of nor understand. This can and should be leveraged by Traditional Satanists, for both personal & supra-personal Sinister Strategy.
